Once a suspect has been arrested for the crime, you must prepare for the trial. Unfortunately, private lawyers are too expensive and all public lawyers have recently gone on strike due to government budget cuts. As a result, each CSI team will be split up. One half of the team will put together a case to prosecute the defendant, while the other half of the team works to create the defense.
The prosecuting attorneys must prove that the defendant has probable cause to have committed the crime. They also need to provide multiple pieces of evidence that prove that the defendant was at the scene of the crime during the time that the crime was committed. Due to discovery rules, the prosecution must share all crime scene and forensic reports with the defense attorneys. The defense attorneys must use the crime scene and forensics reports given to them to poke holes in the prosecution's case. Use the documents on this page to write scripts for your trial presentations. The prosecution script and sample provides a straightforward process to approach presenting evidence. The defense script and sample show one potential approach to providing jurors reasonable doubt. In order to streamline our process, the prosecuting attorneys will present their cases first, and the defense attorneys will present their cases second. Once both cases have been presented, both the prosecution and defense will be give one minute each to make closing arguments. Then the jury will meet in private to decide the outcome of the case. |
